Katy Maher
Assistant Provost for Financial Planning and Operations
Katy Maher is the Assistant Provost for Financial Planning and Operations, serving as the operational and administrative lead for the Academic Affairs administrative units, including departments across Enrollment Management, Undergraduate Affairs, Faculty Affairs, Academic Affairs Equity & Inclusion, Instructional Excellence, University Analytics, and Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Creativity. In this role, Katy partners with unit leaders to develop strategic financial and operational plans, coordinate administrative services, improve processes, and use data to inform decision-making and resource allocation.
Katy also leads the Provost's Office Administration & Finance Business Center, providing shared administrative services for the Academic Affairs administrative units.
Katy holds an MA in Higher Education Administration from Boston College, an MBA from the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst, and a BA in Business Administration from Saint Anselm College. She has worked at UMass Amherst since 2012 in a variety of roles, including positions in the Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences and College of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
