Department Access - Wi-Fi

eduroam is coming to Conte in early 2026. In the meantime,

• The main Conte Building networks are ​PSE-ROAM and PSE-ROAM-PERSONAL. To join either of these networks, please visit https://secure.pse.umass.edu log in with your UMass credentials and follow along to download a wizard and have your device automatically configured and joined to the appropriate network. The PSE-ROAM networks are certificates-based, so attempting to enter your credentials while connecting will not work. Certificates should last until the migration to eduroam is complete.
• PSE-DEVICES  and PSE-DEVICES-PERSONAL are alternative networks for use by devices that do not (easily) support  WPA-Enterprise and certificate-based authentication. Please email us your name, the hardware (MAC) address of the device (in the 1A:23:B5:67:89:CD format; please disable randomization for network addresses if enabled), the name of the device, and whether the device is University- or personally-owned. Your device will be added to the list of approved devices, and you will be able to simply join the appropriate network.
• Finally, the PSE-ONBOARDING network is used for "onboarding" - the process of authenticating new users and providing them with a downloadable wizard that will configure wireless devices and allow them to connect to the PSE-ROAM networks. This network will not work for any other purpose.
• If you are a guest or visitor without UMass credentials, please drop us a line with your name and the hardware (MAC) address of the device (in the 1A:23:B5:67:89:CD format; please disable randomization for network addresses if enabled) and we will add you to the PSE-DEVICES-PERSONAL list, as per above.
• Existing Conte wireless networks (ConteGuests, PSE, PSE-SECURE, PSE-GUEST, PSE-H, etc.) are going away on September 16th. Please review your existing devices to make sure you are not relying on these networks.

The intent of the PSE Wireless network is to provide full wireless coverage within the Conte building. If you have poor reception within the building (or notice areas of partial coverage), please contact us.

Please note that your access to the Conte Building wireless network is logged. You should refer to the UMIT Acceptable use policy to determine what constitutes acceptable use of the University network.
