Research by Xiyu Hu*, Xiaoshuang Wei*, Aditi R Naik*, Laura C Bradley* and James J Watkins* was recently published in Microfluidics and Nanofluidics. In this work, "Rapid scalable fabrication of stable copper electrowetting valves", a microfluidic electrowetting valve was fabricated on a poly(ethylene terephthalate) substrate based on the principle of electrowetting-on-dielectric. These results reported in this paper offer compelling opportunities for integration of copper electrowetting valves into low-cost microfluidic devices using scalable techniques.
