UMass Amherst PSE Graduate students Michelle Gross* and Autumn Mineo* along with PSE Professor Reika Katsumata* recently published "Emulsion polymerization of allyl sulfide copolymers for enhanced molar mass" in Soft Matter.
Emulsion polymerization of styrene with BMDTO yields recyclable copolymers with cleavable C–S bonds, significantly increasing molar mass (81 vs. 17 kg/mol) while maintaining recyclability confirmed by NMR and GPC.
