Opinion Polls You Can Count On
All polls conducted by the UMass Poll are non-partisan and non-ideological. They have been cited by leaders and media outlets on both ends of the political spectrum.
Opinion polls do not necessarily predict events or outcomes. We think of them more like a snapshot in time, showing people’s overarching sentiments. Our samples are representative of populations we poll—the nation or the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We use randomization and aggregation to make generalized inferences about how Americans and Bay Staters think.
We strive for transparency in our methods and our data. For each poll, we release the data as toplines and crosstabs. We also include a methodology section where readers can find key information like sample size, margin of error, poll dates, and how the poll was weighted.
