Democracy in Troubled Times Event
Federal courts are being asked to address thousands of challenges to executive actions, including deportation and detention, the power of the executive to fire large swaths of government workers, and control the professional decisions of lawyers and academic institutions.
Join us for a discussion between Paul Collins (UMass Amherst), Alyx Mark (Wesleyan University), and Allison Harris (Yale University), with Moderator Diane Curtis (UMass Amherst) on the critical issues facing our democracy, and whether and how courts might manage these and other emerging crises.
This event is co-sponsored by the Center for Justice, Law, and Societies.
