Bio

I studied Economics and Political Science from Lahore University of Management Sciences, Pakistan's premier institute, on a US State Department funded scholarship. In another scholarship, also from the US State Department, I studied for one semester as an exchange student in University of Wisconsin Superior. I presented my undergraduate thesis at The Inaugural Diversity, Equity, and Social Justice Undergraduate Research Conference at Harvard University in April 2015. The research conducted for that thesis (on the lived experiences of trans individuals in Lahore, Pakistan) included methods such as SPSS, Focus Group Discussions, Fieldwork, Interviewing and other insights drawn from phenomenological research methods. I have presented different research projects in five different conferences in the United States, and have attended a total of more than 15 professional, academic and student-led conferences in Pakistan. I have interned at The Agha Khan Development Network Karachi, United Nations Headquarters New York (as an NGO representative), and have the honor to upstart a leading research oriented social enterprise in Lahore, Project Code Orange (where more than 33 talented individuals are working to develop a culturally sensitive sexual health education curricula to be taught in Pakistani schools).
