Bio

I teach Critical Political Ecology, Political Economy, Marxian Economics, and History of Economic Thought. My current research concentrates on post-capitalist societies, degrowth, and ecosocialism. My earlier research focused on capitalist economies, including recasting macroeconomic data based on the labor theory of value, theories of the capitalist state, and social wage.

Beyond UMass Amherst, I am a Research Affiliate in Environmental Science and Policy at Smith College. Previously, I taught in the Department of Economics at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Bard College at Simon’s Rock, Hampshire College, and Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey.
