Planning, Design and Construction Services
Planning Design & Construction staff, in collaboration with campus stakeholders, engage in a range of integrated services that help shape the physical campus to offer the best possible environment for teaching, research, student life and community well-being.
We are an authorized agent of the state's Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) and work in close coordination with units within Facilities & Campus Services to serve clients throughout the UMass Amherst organization. Our staff offers a multidisciplinary professional skill set that combines capabilities for physical and programmatic planning, design, procurement, construction management, and regulatory compliance. We undertake campus development projects, physical plant adaptation, leasing and purchasing of non-state real estate, and other non-maintenance construction on UMass Amherst properties, including the following:
