Work is now underway to transform Flint Laboratory into the Student Success Center for the College of Natural Sciences, a large academic department that serves approximately 30% of all undergraduates on campus. Built in 1912 as a dairy lab, Flint has been used most recently as a space for classrooms, offices, and a testing lab. The newly renovated building will house community and student support services for CNS, including office space for CNS advising staff, common spaces for student use, and four new classrooms. Other improvements will include a new roof and low-e insulated aluminum windows, new high efficiency mechanical and electrical systems along with a new fully accessible elevator. The building will be 100% electric in alignment with the campus-wide drive towards decarbonization.
