The UMass Amherst Center for Early Education and Care (CEEC), first established and operated in the 1940's, has a long tradition of campus child care services and has been operating at its current location at 21 Clubhouse Drive since the 1980's. This project will construct a new facility for the CEEC so that the program can continue to support university families as they fulfill their academic and work responsibilities, while offering educational, research, and employment opportunities for university students and faculty. The planned location for the new CEEC facility is 990 North Pleasant Street, abutting the University Village family housing complex on the UMass Amherst campus. The building’s design will provide outdoor play space and a consolidated footprint in comparison to the existing facility.
