Prof. Don Candela is looking to hire two enthusiastic and conscientious physics or astronomy majors to work as undergraduate teaching assistants for the gen-ed course Weather and Our Atmosphere, Fall 2025.  These positions will be for up to five hours per week, and the main duties will be:

  • Grading and providing feedback on weekly student homework.
  • Holding a weekly homework help session, either 5:30-6:45pm on Tuesdays, or 4:00-5:15pm on Wednesdays.
  • Helping to grade midterm and/or final exams.

This is a class for non-science majors interested in weather and climate change. As a physical-sciences gen-ed the level of math and physics used will be modest but nevertheless it will be challenging to many of the students and an ability and willingness to help students increase their abilities in these areas is crucial for these TA positions.

If interested, please fill out this form by August 25, 2025. For the form you will need (a) the name and email of a reference (former TA supervisor or teacher), (b) a few words on why you would be a good fit for this position, and (c) information on your other time commitments for the Fall, 2025 semester.
