Stephane Willocq assumes leadership of ATLAS collaboration

UMass physics professor Stephane Willocq began his two-year leadership position as the spokesperson of ATLAS collaboration this month. The ATLAS collaboration, one of the four major experiments running at the Large Hadron Collider at the CERN laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland is one of the largest collaborations in the world, with nearly 6,000 members hailing from over 180 institutions.  Stephane joined UMass as faculty in 1999 and is the lead PI of the UMass ATLAS group of five faculty members and numerous research scientists, postdoctoral research associates and doctoral students.
