Physics faculty Shubha Tewari was the lead organizer of a new outreach event at the annual March meeting of the American Physical Society meeting entitled Squishy Science Sunday. Over six hundred members of the public attended.
Physics faculty Shubha Tewari was the lead organizer of a new outreach event at the annual March meeting of the American Physical Society meeting entitled Squishy Science Sunday. The event featured demos, hands-on activities and popular talks. Over six hundred children, parents and other interested members of the public attended. The annual meeting draws over 10,000 physicists in the broad area of condensed matter physics to a different US city. More than fifty physicists volunteered to show aspects of their research interests. Other UMass contributors included graduate student Kyle Sullivan and faculty Narayanan Menon and Jonathan Rothstein.
