Undergraduate teaching assistantship

Upper division physics major or prior A105 student needed to help teach Physics/Astronomy 105 (Weather) for Spring 2023.

Teaching/Grading help needed for Physics/Astronomy 105 (Weather) for Spring 2023. Upper division physics majors preferred, but other STEM majors may be considered, along with students who have previously taken the course.

This course is designed for non-scientists who have an interest in the science behind weather and climate. Homework for the course consists primarily of weekly problem sets.

The grading job requires a 10-hour/week commitment on average (but varies a little each week depending on grading load). It can be either a paid position or it can be arranged for course credit. Two and a half hours a week are spent in class (TuTh 10:00am-11:15am) , one hour a week in a training meeting, about one hour a week reading/preparing, one hour a week in office hours, the rest grading problem sets and papers.

Interested parties should contact Prof. Guy Blaylock and be prepared to submit references.
