SymTFT entanglement and Holographic Factorization Puzzle
Xingyang Yu (Virginia Tech)
Motivated by the holographic factorization puzzle, I will discuss how Symmetry TFTs provide a controlled toy model for the multi-boundary structure that leads to baby universes and ensemble-averaged observables. In this framework, SymTFT entanglement between multiple copies produces mixed states whose ensemble character is governed by the algebraic data of the theory; in particular, the dimension of the resulting baby-universe Hilbert space is given by the dimension of an associated Lagrangian algebra. This construction isolates the topological origin of non-factorization in holographic systems while remaining entirely field-theoretic.
