UMass Undergraduate Soft Matter Summer School

Dates: June 8-10, 2026. Icebreaker social/pizza June 7 at 6pm

Overview: This 3-day workshop will teach fundamental concepts of soft-matter physics, a relatively new and fast-growing field with interdisciplinary connections to physics, biology, chemistry, engineering, and applied mathematics.  We hope this will be a helpful launch for undergraduates who want to learn about soft matter physics or about research in this field. Open to students who have completed two or more years of their undergraduate physics program. Dorm housing is available for those coming from far away.
