Tributes: Keep a Remembrance Alive
UMass Amherst has over 500 tributes on campus that celebrate life, retirement, friendship and professional achievement - evident by the benches, gardens, trees and sculptures on campus. Tributes include unique creations of an artist to living treasures that keep a remembrance alive. Our earliest tribute is the Stockbridge House known as the University Club dedicated in 1728. One recent tribute is the single oak tree in celebration of the Class of 2018.
We would like to thank David and Lynne Adams, authors of the book "Massachusetts Memories - UMass Amherst History" for providing us with a detailed list of "Campus Names" and associated memorials where much of our information came from.
Please contact Jennifer Beane, Director of Donor Engagement/Assistant Vice Chancellor for Development, at (413) 545-3347 or jen.beane@umass.edu if you are interested in making a tribute.
