Physical Plant has three digital road signs. The signs are available for use to the campus community. There is no cost but you must reserve a sign. Your reservation is subject to availability and approval.
What to Say on the Sign
Each sign can display up to three lines of 12 characters of text and can cycle between six pages. Follow the 3x5 rule, one of the best practices for digital signs, and limit your text to either 3 lines of 5 words or 5 lines with 3 words.
How to Reserve a Sign
To reserve a sign, email schoen@umass.edu preferrably five days in advance. In your email, tell us:
- when you need the sign - include the start date and time and end date and time.
- what you want the sign to say
- the location for the sign
