At UMass, you’ll get broad exposure to all areas of philosophy, from ancient to contemporary.
Students must complete a minimum of five philosophy courses, including three upper-division courses (300 level or above). With the exception of those taken during periods in which all such restrictions were removed, students may not take courses for the minor pass/fail, with the exception of courses numbered 501 and above. At least three of the five courses must be taken at UMass or the Five Colleges.
A student planning to minor in philosophy should consult an undergraduate advisor.
