The 2025 Jonathan Edwards Prize was awarded to Sam Simon, for his essay, “Hierarchy for Benefit: Plato’s Republic as Totalitarian but not Tyrannical." At the end of each academic year, the Philosophy Department awards the Jonathan Edwards Prize for the best essay by an undergraduate philosophy major, among those nominated by philosophy department instructors.
