Biographical Statement

Sonu Kizhakkepura completed his BSc in Chemistry at the University of Calicut, Kerala, India, before pursuing further studies at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR). There, he earned his MS in Materials Science and later his Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry under the guidance of Prof. M. Eswaramoorthy, working on supramolecular mesoporous silica hybrid functional materials for charge-based separation and delivery. Afterward, he began his postdoctoral research with Prof. Shelly R. Peyton and Prof. John Klier at the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where he specialized in strain-stiffening hydrogels. Subsequently, he joined the Perry lab for a joint project with Prof. Craig Martin, where his research is focused on developing detection and purification strategies related to microfluidics for mRNA manufacturing.
