Diwakaran received his Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, in 2016. Prior to joining UMASS Amherst, he had worked with LANXESS India Pvt. Ltd. where he had handled multiple roles in areas like Process optimization, Project Management, Climate Neutrality, Industry 4.0, HAZOPs, Audits, and Dangerous Goods Management. Design engineering is one of his most liked areas within chemical engineering. In his spare time, he likes to read (non-fiction, classics), cook, and play volleyball.
Diwakaran's research is focused on the development of microfluidics for mRNA manufacturing, as well as efforts related to the development of high-throughput microfluidic platforms for time-resolved protein crystallography.
