2015 Fellow Michael A. Rawlins says he commends President Obama for his new plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the country

Massachusetts should have little trouble adapting to President Barack Obama’s new rule on reducing power plants’ greenhouse gas emissions because the state already passed a more aggressive plan, according to Senate President Stanley Rosenberg of Amherst. Along with climate scientist Michael Rawlins and spokesmen for energy providers in western Massachusetts, Rosenberg applauded the plan.

Rawlins adds additional comments in the article "Massachusetts has more aggressive plan than new federal rule reducing power plants’ greenhouse gas emissions", published in the Daily Hampshire Gazette on August 6, 2015.

2015 Fellow Nilanjana "Buju" Dasgupta Joins New NSF Initiative to Increase STEM Participation

NSF INCLUDES is a multi-year comprehensive national initiative to catalyze improvement in the preparation, participation, advancement, and potential contributions of those who have been traditionally underserved in the STEM fields.

As a member of the National Science Foundation's Inclusion Across the Nation of Communities of Learners that have been Underrepresented for Diversity in Engineering and Science (INCLUDES), Nilanjana "Buju" Dasgupta, (Psychological and Brain Sciences) summarized the first planning meeting's discussions and breakout sessions for France Cordova , the new director of the NSF and founder of the new initiative.
