This workshop equips faculty and staff with practical steps they can take to advocate for the use of research in policymaking, and clarifies what lobbying is and what is not allowed in our professional roles. without inadvertently lobbying. The training reviews common lobbying criteria and shows how scholars can make the most of lobbying exemptions. The workshop includes a number of interactive scenarios that allow scholars to test their new knowledge and introduces basic policy communication skills that can be proactively deployed to avoid lobbying concerns.
