Missed Classes

On September 13, 2001, the Faculty Senate Rules Committee, the Academic Deans, and the Provost adopted the following joint statement:

"In the wake of the horrible events of September 11, we urge faculty to understand the difficulties facing many of our students. Specifically, we urge faculty to grant academic amnesty to students who missed classes that occurred between September 11 and September 18. We offer this recommendation in the sure knowledge that faculty, students, and administrators are united in our efforts to cope with the ongoing effects of this tragedy and in our mutual need to permit an appropriate interval before returning to our regular academic schedule."

If there are any questions, please feel free to get in touch.

Ernest May
Secretary
Faculty Senate
