At a time when the way we live our values has become a critical global issue, Chancellor Marcellette G. Williams planned a community-wide conversation entitled Living Values: the Life, Death and Legacy of Amy Biehl. Full text of the Chancellor's Statement

The event was held November 7 & 8, 2001 on the UMass Amherst campus

Schedule of Events

The schedule of events included opportunities to meet Peter and Linda Biehl, the parents of Amy Biehl, an American Fulbright scholar killed in South Africa in 1993; to hear about Amy's life; and to learn about the work of the Amy Biehl Foundation and the potential opportunities afforded for involvement of students and faculty from the Five College and surrounding communities. The major event was a public presentation in the Fine Arts Center on Wednesday, November 7 at 7:30 p.m. featuring Peter and Linda Biehl in conversation about living values.
