Hi! My name is Myrger, I am a Sophomore majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I began participating in research during my freshman year, working for Rotello Lab. Nowadays, I am still part of Rotello Lab, working with protein expression and purification while also testing different delivery techniques. I also interned at AbbVie during the summer of my freshman year, where I was part of the Immunology department, specifically  FC biology team. I worked mostly with DNA there, exploring how different inducted mutations could affect Covid variants. I also experimented with how changes in the IgG structure would affect its half-life, with the goal of finding a way to increase the half-life of the antibodies. This research experience helped me grow my academic knowledge and gain laboratory experience in the field of my interest.

As an OURS mentor, I am hoping to help students find research opportunities based on their interests. As I struggled to find research and stressed a lot about it during my freshman year, I am hoping I can make this process easier for other students. Hopefully, I can provide great help to students while also learning and growing from this experience.
