Hello! My name is Anastasia, and I am a senior majoring in chemistry. I’ve been involved with research since my first year of college, and I’m excited to help other students jumpstart their research journeys. I’ve been involved in several different types of research, including NSF REU summer internships, independent study projects, and research for academic credit, and I look forward to sharing my experience in finding these opportunities.

Currently, I work in Dr. DuChene’s lab in the chem department, where I use electrochemistry to synthesize shape-specific copper nanoparticles for use in catalysis. Outside of the lab, I'm also committed to mentoring underrepresented groups in STEM and advocating for equity in academia. I've had the privilege of working as a tutor and substitute science teacher, where I was able to build confidence and curiosity in science among students in my community. As a community college grad, I know how valuable mentorship is to accessing academic resources and knowledge. Don’t hesitate to reach out with questions about anything—from how to find opportunities to developing research interests.
