Legal Interpreting

At the end of this courses, students will be able to: demonstrate knowledge of different types of courts and other legal settings; describe specialized divisions in district courts; apply vocabulary associated with different legal settings in interpreted encounters; examine the application of legal codes of ethics in particular situations and contexts; explain the requirements for court interpreter certification in the US; practice sight translation, consecutive and simultaneous interpretation in legal contexts; analyze their interpreting performance.
