The Old Chapel provides a beautiful atmosphere for events both small and large, with multiple amenities and services available. Be a part of the history of UMass and submit your event request today

How to Book 
*Note that the Old Chapel is a popular destination and we book events up to a year in advance.

  1. Read our Policies and Procedures 
  2. Submit an event request for approval by the Old Chapel Manager.

Features and Amenities
*Available to all guests when they book a space at the Old Chapel.

  • Handicap accessible building and event spaces via ramps and elevators
  • Single-use, gender-neutral bathrooms on each floor (three total)
  • Two-gendered, stall bathrooms on the bottom floor
  • Lactation room on the bottom floorMinuteman statue in front of Old Chapel in the Fall.
  • Hydration stations on the bottom and first floors
  • LEED Gold certified building with sustainable features
  • Adjustable lights and shades
  • Supply stations in each space
  • Coat racks
  • Customized room setups
  • Audio/Visual services provided by Old Chapel staff (Additional fees apply - discounts available for student groups)
  • Catering Services provided by UMass Catering (Additional fees apply)
  • Loading dock on ground level for deliveries and event load-in

Rental Fees
*On-campus renters are any groups or individuals associated with the UMass Amherst campus with an appropriate speed type (student groups, faculty, or staff). Off-Campus renters are any groups or individuals who are not associated with the UMass Amherst campus.

*The Old Chapel at UMass Amherst is located at the heart of campus, making it a great destination for events. There is no direct parking next to the Chapel so allow yourself additional time to walk here after parking in the garage or one of the nearby lots.
