UMass Amherst academic departments review their effectiveness in promoting undergraduate and graduate student success on a regular basis, through the annual budgeting process, unit planning tied to the University’s strategic plan, and the 5-7 year cycle of program review (AQAD). Departments draw from multiple sources of evidence to inform these efforts, including centralized and comparative evidence provided by ASER and University Analytics and Institutional Research (UAIR) and the evidence departments identify, collect, and analyze themselves as a part of their Educational Effectiveness Plan (EEP).
