BIO: Dr. Regina Kowal RN, MS, CNL, DNP, NP-C has been a full time Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts College of Nursing since 2012. She has a long history with the school, completing the BS program, the CNL program, and the DNP program at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Her background includes extensive experience in emergency nursing, teaching in area nursing programs across the undergraduate and graduate curriculums, and actively working in acute care and community health settings. She is currently a family nurse practitioner and is board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She maintains an active practice as a nurse practitioner in the areas of urgent care, hospice, and addiction medicine. Her research interests include intimate partner violence, interventions to assist victims of sexual assault, anxiety in children, autism spectrum disorders, and women and cardiovascular health.  She resides in Western Massachusetts with her children.
