MS in Nursing Education Concentration

The MS in Nursing Education concentration prepares nurses to develop and deliver curriculum to nursing students and to provide patient education in healthcare settings. 

The Concentration in Nursing Education consists of an 11-course (33 credit) program of study focused on nursing and education. The program is delivered online except for a final practicum. 

Upon completion of the program, the graduate is prepared to design and implement educational programs in educational and practice settings.

As a student in the UMass Amherst Master of Science in Nursing Education concentration, you will:

  • Gain advanced knowledge in advanced practice nursing and nursing education that will prepare you to be a leader in nursing education in academia and practice
  • Develop competencies and knowledge specified by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) for Master’s Education
  • Prepare to take the NLN Nursing Education certification through the National League for Nursing

 

Graduates with a Masters in Nursing Education have gone on to teach in nursing schools and to hold positions in Nursing Education at healthcare facilities.
