Instructions: Our online orientation program consists of mainly live presentations via Zoom Webinar followed by questions and answers. Below you’ll find a few presentations which will not be part of the live presentation to review on your own between now and February 12. If you are unable to access any of the information, links, or videos, please contact us.

Online Orientation Presentation Agenda (Zoom Webinar)

Academic Perspective – A faculty member discusses what students need to do to succeed academically at UMass.

Money Matters – One of the best ways to support your student is to be aware of what is involved in the process of paying for school. After reviewing this session, you will better understand the billing cycle, payment options, financial aid options, and important deadlines.

Eating at UMass – Award-Winning UMass Dining discusses meal plan options, special diets, student jobs/internships and a look into our modified Spring 2021 operation.

Living at UMass – University staff partner with you to guide and assist your student in their educational journey. Representatives from Residence Education and Residential Life Student Services outline campus resources and community expectations and discuss support for you and your student as they settle into their new living environment.

Campus Health and Wellbeing – Your student’s health and wellbeing is a priority at UMass Amherst. University Health Services (UHS), the Center for Counseling and Psychological Health (CCPH), and Disability Services give an overview of the services they provide and talk about wellbeing and resilience and what you should know to keep your student healthy.

Spring 2021 Move-In: Everything You Need to Know  - The Spring 2021 semester will be different than any semester on campus in recent memory and that starts with Move-In. This presentation will discuss what students should bring to campus, the steps they need to take prior to Move-In and what to expect on Move-In Day.

Safety – A discussion about alcohol/drug use and student safety with staff from the UMass Police Department, Student Conduct and Compliance, Off Campus Student Center, and the Center for Health Promotion.

Spring 2021 COVID-19 Guidelines and Expectations - In this presentation the Environmental Health and Safety department will discuss the university’s COVID-19 safety protocol, travel, quarantine and isolation requirements, and all you need to know to help your student stay safe during the spring semester and beyond.
