What To Bring

Summer NSO

Students participating in any 2-day orientation will be staying in the residence halls for one night. We want you to be comfortable while you're staying with us. Please help us out by bringing the following items with you:

  • Bedding: pillow, sheets, sleeping bag/blanket, etc.
  • A fan
  • An alarm clock
  • Toiletries: soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.
  • A towel
  • Flip flops for the shower
  • First-year students: Do you sing, dance, play an instrument, or have another unique talent? Join a favorite NSO tradition—Open Mic Night! Pack your instrument, music, or whatever else you need to share your talents with your classmates.

All students should also bring:

  • A photo ID with your name printed on it (ex. license or school ID)
  • Informal clothes: sneakers, jeans, shorts, shirts, raincoat
  • An umbrella
  • A water bottle (especially if it is going to be hot)
  • Two pencils and two pens
  • Spending money (your meals are included, so you only need a small amount)
  • Your insurance card in case of emergency
  • Your online Math Placement Exam score, Net ID and password
  • Your spring 2019 grade report or transcript (if you took college level courses this spring). Transfer students are also asked to bring unofficial copies of all transcripts to reference in advising as needed.
