York University Historian Discusses Canada and Gay Rights in U.S.

Marc Stein, professor of history and gender, sexuality, and women’s studies at York University in Toronto, will speak on “Sex with Neighbors: Canada and Canadians in the ‘U.S.’ Homophile Press” on Friday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. in 601 Herter Hall.

Stein is the author of “Rethinking the Gay and Lesbian Movement,” “Sexual Injustice: Supreme Court Decisions from Griswold to Roeand “City of Sisterly and Brotherly Loves: Lesbian and Gay Philadelphia, 1945–72.”

The lecture is supported by the Center for Teaching and Faculty Development’s Mutual Mentoring Initiative, funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and sponsored by the departments of history 
and women, gender, sexuality studies.
