The University Orchestra will perform in concert on Wednesday, April 23 at 8 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center Concert Hall.
Tian Hui Ng will be the guest conductor and soprano Amanda Hall will be the guest soloist. The program will include “Four Last Songs” by Richard Strauss and “Symphony No.2 in D Major, Op.73” by Johannes Brahms.
Hall graduated from the Yale School of Music Opera Program and holds an M.M. degree in vocal performance from the University of Southern California. She has sung operatic roles with companies such as Anchorage Opera, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, New York City Opera, Western Plains Opera, Opera Grand Rapids and Hawaii Opera Theater. On the concert stage Hall has performed major works, such as those by Vaughn Williams, Orff and Beethoven, with the Hartford, Asheville, Minot and New Haven symphony orchestras, and the Polish National Radio Orchestra.
