UMass Amherst Libraries Mark Opening of New Graduate Commons

UMass Amherst is holding a grand opening celebration and ribbon-cutting for its newly renovated Graduate Commons. In collaboration with UMass Libraries, the Graduate School and Provost’s Office, the $600,000 renovation project features a combination of desks, tables and seating with moveable white boards along with two all-glass small group meeting rooms. The facility is accessible through swipe card access for all graduate students during library operating hours.

Dean of Libraries Simon Neame will present welcoming remarks. Other speakers in attendance will be Provost John McCarthy, Barbara Krauthamer, dean of the Graduate School, Ashley Carpenter, a doctoral student in the College of Education, and Leslie Button, associate dean of libraries.
