UMass Amherst Homecoming Parade Set for Sept. 27

AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts Homecoming Parade takes place Saturday, Sept. 27 from 11 to 11:45 a.m.

The parade begins at the Robsham Visitors’ Center on Massachusetts Avenue at the University and travels through downtown Amherst on North Pleasant Street before turning right onto Amity Street. The parade then returns to campus on University Drive and concludes at Alumni Stadium.

The UMass Minuteman Marching Band and the Cathedral High School Marching Band of Springfield will provide musical entertainment.

Floats created by fraternities, sororities, and a number of student organizations at the University will add to the festive air. Free candy and balloons will be available for all.

Chancellor David K. Scott and alumni association President Robert Goodhue will be on hand for the event. Also expected to attend are UMass President William M. Bulger and alumnus Sen. Stanley Rosenberg, D-Amherst.

The Homecoming Game between UMass and the University of Rhode Island will follow the parade at 1 p.m.
