UMass Amherst Astronomy Department Hosts Eclipse Viewing

AMHERST, Mass. – The public is invited to view the solar eclipse on Monday, Aug. 21 beginning at 1:20 p.m. at the Sunwheel, located south of McGuirk Alumni Stadium at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Hosted by Daniela Calzetti and Tom Whitney of the UMass Amherst astronomy department, the event will allow visitors to view the eclipse through several solar telescopes.

The Sunwheel can be accessed from Rocky Hill Road about a quarter-mile west of University Drive.
