Stern receives ASCAPLUS Award

Robert L. Stern, professor emeritus of Music, is the recipient of an ASCAPLUS Award from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).

The awards are intended to assist and encourage ASCAP composers in the early and mid stages of their careers as well as established writers whose main activity is outside of broadcast media. The awards, which include cash support, are based on the prestige value of each writer’s catalog of original compositions. The awards are granted by an independent panel.
