Ruling Issued in Death of UMass Amherst Student

AMHERST, Mass. - According to the office of the state chief medical examiner, University of Massachusetts junior Adam G. Prentice of Hyannis died of "massive bleeding" after a Sept. 27 fall on campus.

Test results concerning the level of drugs or alcohol in Prentice’s blood are pending, according to the medical examiner.

Campus police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances that led to Prentice’s death. They encourage anyone with information about his activities Friday night and early Saturday morning to contact them at 545-2121.

Funeral services for Prentice are scheduled for Friday in Osterville, Mass.
