New programs being held in Old Chapel will change the hours of availability for event spaces in fall 2019.
Starting in spring 2019, Old Chapel partnered with new student admissions to house their daily information sessions and tours in the first-floor multi-purpose room (MPR). This programming runs from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Following admissions, the first floor will be available as a student study space from 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
As a result of this new partnership, the first-floor multi-purpose room is available for booking after 5 p.m. as an addition to any Great Hall reservation during the weekdays. The MPR is still available on weekends from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. as an add-on space to the Great Hall. Hours may vary based on event schedules, with updates and closures listed in the Old Chapel lobby or on the website. Because of the popularity of event spaces, early booking for Old Chapel events is recommended.
The Chapel is also rolling out a new event request form, up to date calendar information, event planning support documents and new social media throughout the semester. The iconic Carillon bells will also be back and ringing on campus starting Sept. 3 at 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
