Obituary: Sylvia Jackson, Retired Physical Plant Typist

Sylvia J. (Wiles) Jackson, 80, of Deerfield, a retired custodian and typist in the Physical Plant, died Dec. 2.

Born in South Deerfield Sept. 28, 1938, she attended local schools and was a graduate of Greenfield High School.

She joined UMass Amherst in 1980 as an academic custodian and in 1990 became a typist II in management support services in the Physical Plant. She retired in 2001.

She leaves her son, Clifton “Kip” of Deerfield, and a sister, Betty Rice of Greenfield.
