Obituary: Suzanne O’Hare, Clinical Instructor in Nursing

Suzanne Lynn O’Hare, 61, of Southampton, a clinical instructor in the College of Nursing, died April 13.

Born June 17, 1957 in Chicopee, she graduated from Holyoke Catholic High School, received her nursing degree from Holyoke Community College, BSN from Fitchburg State College and MSN from the University of Hartford.

She worked for more than 35 years at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, mostly in vascular surgery. She taught at Springfield Technical Community college before joining UMass Amherst in as a clinical instructor in 2015.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Kevin O’Hare.

She is survived by her husband, Christopher Higgins of Belchertown; three sons, Sean O’Hare and his wife Alyssa of Waltham, Ryan O’Hare and Nicholas O’Hare, both of Southampton; three sisters, Diane Heilman and her husband Lloyd of Florida, Lynette Moriarty and her husband Brian of Hatfield, and Celeste DeFilipi of Monson; and a sister-in-law, Christine Sullivan and husband Peter of Holyoke.

There will be a celebration of her life on Sunday, April 29 at 2 p.m. at The Southampton Congregational Church, 212 College Highway, Southampton.
