A new online system for job postings and managing applicants for staff and faculty positions is being implemented on campus and across the five-campus system, according to Juan A. Jarrett, assistant vice chancellor for Human Resources.
The Interview Exchange applicant tracking system (ATS) is an SaaS-based software system that provides a robust job posting interface that can easily be linked to many popular online job bulletin boards and offers feature-rich functionality to manage applicant tracking, applicant document management and the capability to use e-mail communications to support the search committee process used by higher education, said Jarrett in a Sept. 11 memo to deans, directors and department heads.
Information, templates and job aids on how to post job vacancies and manage applicants on the UMass Amherst Interview Exchange website will be sent to department personnel coordinators and the ATS will be discussed at the personnel coordinators meeting later this month, said Jarrett. Department site visits are planned for this fall to help facilitate the online job posting process.
The Interview Exchange ATS is being implemented across the UMass system at each campus and the President’s Office, he added. Plans are underway to implement Interview Exchange online personnel requisition functionality early next year, which will integrate the position request and approval process with the online job posting process, and provide a link between Interview Exchange and HireRight for background reviews of finalist candidates.
PC kiosks have been set up in the campus Employment Office to provide additional assistance for on- and off-campus applicants to apply online.
While departments will still retain the flexibility to advertise and post vacancies in targeted and discipline specific recruitment sources, after Sept. 13, all vacant positions must be posted on the UMass Amherst Interview Exchange website and all candidates must apply for job vacancies through UMass Amherst Interview Exchange website to ensure the campus can continue to meet its Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs reporting obligations.
Personnel coordinators will be given job specific links from Interview Exchange to use on recruitment sites and in job ads which will direct candidates to our Interview Exchange application site, said Jarrett.
