AMHERST, Mass. – A hands-on workshop, “Pruning Blueberries,” is scheduled for Saturday, March 30, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Tougas Family Farm, 234 Ball St., Northborough.

Sonia Schloemann, a UMass Extension educator, will teach participants the basics of blueberry pruning as part of a series of home gardening workshops presented by Mass Aggie Seminars 2019.

Both healthful and well-suited to New England conditions, blueberries are among the most popular fruits to grow in the home garden. Participants will get some hands-on pruning lessons and will learn about tool maintenance and sharpening. Tools will be provided, or attendees can bring their own.

Part of the workshop will take place outside, so attendees should dress appropriately for potentially wet, cold and muddy conditions

The workshop costs $45. Register at UMassGarden.com.
