Kenneth Feinberg, BP Oil Spill and Sept. 11 Compensation Fund Administrator, to Donate Papers to UMass Amherst Libraries

The UMass Amherst Libraries will host a news conference to announce the donation of attorney Kenneth Feinberg’s papers, documenting an extraordinary career in public service.

Feinberg, a UMass Amherst alumnus, is a recognized leader in achieving comprehensive settlements in high-profile liability cases and for victims of large-scale disasters. He currently oversees compensation to victims of the BP oil spill and served as special master for the Sept. 11 Victims Compensation Fund. His work has addressed the legal and monetary aspects of assessing the value of human life.

Feinberg will speak at the news conference and will be joined by UMass Amherst Chancellor Robert Holub, Director of Libraries Jay Schafer, and Professor and History Chair Joye Bowman.
