Regina Galasso, assistant professor of Spanish and Portuguese studies in the department of languages, literatures and cultures, has been named director of the Translation Center.
The center is a unique enterprise that combines business services with academics. By keeping up with the latest in training and research, the center offers high quality translations and interpreting services and communication that exhibits a deep understanding of and care for translation.
Galasso aims to maintain the high quality translation and interpretation work for which the Translation Center is known.
In addition to the close relationship that the center has with the department of languages, literatures and cultures, among her priorities will be the center’s visibility as a recognized hub of all translation activity on campus, ranging from courses and projects to publications and serving campus visitors, as well as further supporting literary translation and translators.
